Instagram Tutorial: Body Contour
So I haven't worked out in three weeks so that I could film this mini "Body Contour" Instagram tutorial. I knew I would get a lot of comments saying "Well you already have abs!", so I ditched the gym and saw the muscles disappear slightly and felt it was the right time to film. (The things I do for ya'll, everyone knows that I'm a total gym rat!) I've wanted to film this tutorial for a while now, and am so excited to share it with you all! Get that body snatched in an instant with some highlight and contour!
Step 1: Primer
Priming is essential to keeping all of the product you are about to apply on to your body intact for the entire day! My go to primer for body priming is the Kat Von D Lock-It Hydrating Primer. Your body will thank you for applying this hydrating barrier from products it doesn't come in contact with at a regular basis. I mean who wants body acne?!
Step 2: Liquid or Cream Highlight
You're always going to start the process of body contouring by applying a liquid or cream highlight over the areas you want to look more pumped/raised. My favorite product for this is the NYX Cosmetics Bright Idea Illuminating Stick in "Chardonnay Shimmer", it is absolutely perfect for a wide range of skin tones. The stick applicator makes it extremely easy to apply wherever you desire product, while also giving you the exact amount needed. You are going to apply this over the chest, abs, collar bone and arms (Avoiding areas that you are going to contour). I blend the product with the Sigma Beauty Flat Kabuki F80 brush (Use my code "Vicmram" to save money off all Sigma Beauty products!).
Step 3: Contour
Ah, so we have finally reached the contouring stage. For some reason or another this is always the step that totally intimidated people. If you survived liquid/cream highlight than you will totally conquer contour, I promise! I am obsessed with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation in Cocoa for contouring both the face and body. (I recommend a stick foundation especially for beginners because it makes the application process seamless.) You will apply the contour to areas where the shadow and indentations of the chest, abs and arm muscles would be. To blend I use the Sigma Beauty Concealer Blend Kabuki - F79 brush, because it is the perfect size to fit in between all of these areas, as well as its ability to blend to perfection.
Step 4: Powder Highlight
Okay so your abs are now on fleek, now it's time to take the glow to the next level and what better highlighter than the Ultimate Glowkit from Anastasia Beverly Hills?! I dip my Sigma Beauty Strobing Fan - F42 brush into every pan and apply over any area that I applied the liquid/cream highlight further intensifying the glow as well as setting the first layer.
Step 5: Setting Spray
Bronzed, chiseled and glowing whether you're channeling a Greek or Egyptian god it's time to set the masterpiece you've just created. The setting spray of the moment is the Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Spray! The spray comes in a variety of scents, of which my favorites are peach and lemongrass. (You can my code "Victor30" to save money off all Gerard Cosmetic products!)
So there you have it, your dream body in under 30 minutes! This was one of my favorite tutorials to film and I'm thinking of turning it into a full Youtube tutorial! Comment down below if I should, as well as what you would like to see me do next!
