The line between gender and beauty has significantly blurred in the past year and has given rise to an interest in makeup amongst males. The super macho anti-makeup attitude of the 90s is giving way to a new era of beauty enlightenment amongst men and doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Lately, my everyday routine has consisted of simple male grooming because it requires very little time and effort but gives you a polished look for any occasion. (FYI: I hate that we need to call this "male makeup", what I really mean is non-glam makeup that focuses on skin and eyebrows regardless of gender! "Male makeup" is a term used to make it less scary to men but we need to realize that makeup is genderless!)
This grooming consisted of only three cosmetic products (excluding setting products) and takes fifteen minutes maximum to achieve. I always start out with brows, and of course used the holy grail of brow products, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Dark Brown. I then followed by applying the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick SPF 21 in 460 Suede W on my face and neck area. I finished off by highlighting the under eye area, high points of the cheek, middle of forehead and nose bridge to brighten and create dimension with the Kat Von D Lock It Concealer - Creme in M27 Warm. (You finish the entire look with setting products of your choice) The end result is a beautiful, flawless finish that anyone can pull off. I will be filming a tutorial of this look that will be up sometime early next week!
