How To Treat A Really Bad Sunburn

It's the middle of summer which means lots of exposure to the sun resulting in one thing, sunburn. Sunburns are not fun at all! They make everyday tasks such as putting on clothes torture and even the slightest touch will have you in pain. Sunburns are not only uncomfortable, they can be quite dangerous to the health of your skin. The best advice is to avoid over exposure to the sun but when that isn't possible and you've already been sunburnt, what is the quickest way to treat and heal burnt skin?

1. Water. Staying hydrated is the most important thing to do when sunburnt. Your skin is severely dehydrated in this state and needs all of the moisture to renourish dry skin.

2. Sunscreen. If only we could avoid the sun altogether when we're sunburnt but for the most part that is impossible when you have responsibilities to attend to. Sunscreen is essential in protecting exposed skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays. Apply sunscreen even on overcast days as UVA and UVB rays can penetrate clouds. Reapply sunscreen every two hours!

3. Aloe Vera Gel. Aloe Vera gel is god sent when you're sunburnt because not only does hydrate and treat damaged skin, it prevents you from peeling! You spent all that time tanning, why would you want it to go to waste?

Pretty simple right? Treating a sunburn doesn't have to be complicated and with the steps above, you will feel instant relief as well as complete healing within a short amount of time.

Are you sunburnt? Try the steps above and let me know what you think in the comments below!
